Choirs
Workshops
Vivace!
Venue: Ditchling, East Sussex
Wednesdays - 7:30pm
We are a small choir of mixed voices based in Ditchling, East Sussex. Our motto is 'Ubi Caritas et Amor' (Where there is love and charity) and we hope that you will come along to one of our future concerts and experience for yourself the joy that an evening with Vivace! can bring.
Laughton Village Choir (LVC)
Venue: Laughton Village Hall, East Sussex
Mondays - 8pm to 9:30pm
Based in Laughton, we are a friendly community choir, always keen to welcome new members. We rehearse 8:00-9:30pm on Mondays at Laughton Village Hall, Church Lane, Laughton, BN8 6AH
No previous choral experience is required although the ability to sing in tune is an advantage!
The Clockhouse Singers meet 9.00-11.00 on Thursday mornings in the Forest Row Village hall (RH18 5ES). We are a small mixed group (currently 3 men and 10 women) that specialised in a cappella close-harmony classical and jazz. Our repertoire ranges from sophisticated jazz arrangements (Swingle, Puerling, Real Group) and tricky classical numbers by the likes of Copland and Whitacre , often in 8 parts.
We don't actually perform very frequently, the rehearsals being satisfying in their own right. Mostly we appear as guests in other choirs' concerts, and are always open to invitations!
Clockhouse Singers
Venue: Forest Row Village Hall, East Sussex
Thursday Mornings - 9am to 11am
Periodically, Linda offers workshops in the converted barn at the home of her friends, Naomi Cunningham and Tim Pitt-Payne, near Berwick, E Sussex. Workshops have covered a wide variety of music and formats: sometimes a small balanced choir of up to 24 singers work on a selection of capella choral music (classical or jazz), or a single more substantial work; sometimes the workshop focuses on singing technique, using a variety of exercises and one or two short pieces; and sometimes Linda coaches singers individually and collectively on 4 or 5 Lieder.
Wick Street Farm
Singing Workshops
Venue: Berwick, East Sussex
Two day workshop
Do you or your choir need practical conducting help?
Would your choir or choral society like to host a workshop?
Linda offers voice production workshops tailored to your needs which concentrate more specifically on how to sing rather than what notes to sing. Vocal workshops offer the opportunity to establish the fundamentals of singing technique and to provide a sort of singing surgery. Price depends on numbers and duration.
